Cheshire companies are showing their international trading prowess with 8 companies receiving Queen’s for Enterprise in the international trade category.
Her Majesty The Queen has today (23 April 2019) named 201 businesses as among the best in the country in the prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise to celebrate Her Majesty’s 93rd birthday.
The winners include businesses leading the way in a huge range of industries – from construction, agriculture, motoring and software development. This year, three quarters of the total are SMEs, 30 of which have fewer than ten employees. They will join more than 6,000 British businesses in receiving the prestigious honour and will have the privilege of displaying the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise emblem for five years.
The Awards, now in its 53rd year, are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses, with companies from across the UK recognised for their contribution in the four categories.

The nine awards go to 8 Cheshire companies with one receiving a double award for international trade and for innovation.
DriveWorks Ltd ( international trade and innovation awards )
DriveWorks Ltd of Cheshire, are a software development company. Their DriveWorks product automates the creation of sales quotes, manufacturing documents and data, including CAD models, drawings and 3D representations online. The software has been developed in-house and is one-of-a-kind in the UK. Used by manufacturing companies globally, the software enables the user to customise and configure products online in 3D, generate quotes, sales information, and manufacturing data. The software allows users to set up configurators, that can be used on any desktop, mobile or tablet device, and does not require any specialist knowledge or custom-coding. Automation is included so that all manufacturing and production data is created in parallel. The software platform has created additional value for customers and enabled the company to achieve continuous commercial success.

International trade award winners from Cheshire
Orbital Education Limited: Orbital Education Ltd began trading in 2008 as an operator of British style international schools overseas. The company now has ten schools in seven countries – Russia ,Spain, Hungary, China, Ecuador, Slovenia and Qatar.

Woodford Engineering Consultancy: Woodford Engineering Consultancy (UK) Ltd wins the Queen’s Award for International Trade for Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years. Overseas sales grew year on year over three years from £1.1 million to £3.2 million, a rise of 177%.

Foilco Limited: Foilco Ltd was started in August 1987 as a customer service led supplier of hot stamping foils to the print industry in the UK. The company supplies gold, silver, metallic and holographic hot stamping foils to the printing industry and is based in Lowton St Mary’s, Warrington. Its foil can be seen on many products such as Burberry aftershave, Chivas Regal whisky, Aquafresh toothpaste, GQ magazine & Harrods Christmas gift range.
