Sandbach business group shares over £½ million

A local networking business group which meets every Wednesday at the Chimney House Hotel in Sandbach, is celebrating a fabulous 1st year and is planning for even bigger and better things in 2018.

The group which is part of the BNI network shared over £506,000 of business between their fellow members. Targets have now been set for 2018 with BNI Sandbach, as the group is known, aiming to pass £1m in business referrals, as well as recruiting new members.

The group has a wide range of business people from various sectors including a gardener, florist, mortgage broker, accountant, caterer, builder and digital marketer. Due to its huge success, the decision was taken recently to move their weekly meeting to the hotel, enabling them to host the increasing number of members.

The purpose of BNI, which has groups across the country, is to provide a structured, supportive business development environment. Members are taught how to attract and win more new business through word of mouth referrals from fellow group members.

At each meeting everyone has the opportunity to talk about their own business. They also share their combined network of contacts to find business opportunities and referrals for one another, to a specific brief that members outline at every meeting.

Ryan Phelps, group president said, “We have had a fantastic first year. This is a really friendly group of local companies who are totally committed to supporting each other’s businesses. We meet early in the morning before the business day begins, and despite the early hour manage to have a lot of fun whilst helping each other to develop our respective businesses.

“But it isn’t all about business, we genuinely all get on really well, so much so that we often meet socially such as our now famous curry tasting evening held recently at the K2H restaurant in Sandbach. We are always looking for ambitious people who want to grow their business or organisation, as well as have a great time, and referral marketing has proven to help them to do just that. “
